Hours Worked
Visual Rota will be counting up the hours worked in:
Each shift
Each day
Each time period
Every person
This enables you to check the hours everyone is rostered to work and be able to compare this to the contracted hours.
You can add or subtract shifts accordingly and ensure that everyone is working equally and to their contract. It is easy to see if extra hours have been worked.
A problem raised by IBM was as follows:
6 current members of staff based on 24/7 ideally every other weekend off on a 8hr shift pattern.
We need to have 2 members of staff working to cover monday-friday 9-5:30, and only need 1 person at any one
time to cover between hours 17:30-09:00 (mon-fri)this being based on a 8hr shift per person, weekends also based on
shift rota and also based on 8hr
shift maximum 48hr week
The following animation is one possible solution.
We define 4 different shifts. Three of which give 24x7 and one that gives a second person on duty 9-5.30pm
E = an Early shift 6am-2pm, L = a Late shift 2-10pm, N = a Night shift 10pm-6am and D = a Day shift 9am-5.30pm
All shifts are classed as 8hrs.
The following roster takes very little time to create because most of the work is taken care of by the software.
